The VIF (Very Important Fan) Club

What Is It?
The Tantric Club was formed in 2001 by members of the band for the benefit of their friends and fans (that's you, pal). Unlike most other "fan clubs," The Tantric Club is a real part of the band-- fully owned and operated by Tantric itself as opposed to some faceless corporation out to make a quick buck at your expense.

Far more than the name "fan club" would imply, The Tantric Fan Club exists so that the band can keep a two-way line of communication open to the people who have helped and supported them over the years. Tantric has always hesitated to even use the term "fan," feeling that it belies the strength and depth of dedication and support held among the very folk to whom the teensy, flaccid word might be applied.

With being on the road so much, Hugo, Matt, Todd and Jesse have entrusted the care and feeding of The Tantric Fan Club to their friend, merch manager and webmaster, Steve deGuzman, a man they've known and worked closely with for a few years now. As such, "Guz" is a man with a mission: to make sure The Tantric Fan Club is operated in a way that reflects Tantric's deep commitment to and appreciation for their friends and supporters--their Fans, if you'll pardon the expression.

What's the Difference?
Glad you asked. The Tantric Fan Club will serve as your channel to the band...and to each other. We'll dig through the e-mail bags to pick out the best, most relevant of your letters for personal responses from the band-- or publication in FREQUENCY. We'll be hosting live shows for The Tantric Fan Club Members only. We'll be providing special seating arrangements for club members at open shows. And we'll help you reach out and touch...each other! We're proud that The Tantric Fan Club is composed of a wide assortment of people from all walks and from all over the world. We'll help you "meet'n'greet" through our pen pals program, and provide you with a forum to swap ideas, opinion, attitudes, and, of course, merchandise (we are currently deciding on our total merch line...it will be available to buy soon). We'll even help you set up a local chapter, so you can meet face-to-face to talk about you-know-who.

What Else Do I Get (and for how much)?
$25.00 gets you a one year membership in The Tantric Fan Club and your direct connection to the band, but you also get some cool stuff:

FREQUENCY Ezine (NOW AVAILABLE - Click HERE)
For all level memberships (we have one level available right now), it means that you get a year-long subscription to FREQUENCY, Tantric's exclusive, members-only web newsletter that comes out every 90 days (more frequently once the band's exposure continues to expand). In it, you'll find the latest Tantric News and Insider Stuff... not some of the fluff you'll may find in "regular" ezines, this is 100% Tantric! FREQUENCY is in-your-face-Tantric, featuring professionally written articles and articles written by not-quite professional writer's like the BAND and their friends, even relatives! FREQUENCY features regular columns like Inside Your Head, where members submit their questions for the band; Revillusion, where the members give their "two cents worth"; , Breakdown, which features reviews of other musicians' output. FREQUENCY also has an area Live Your Life, devoted to our local chapters; and, for you creative types, there is Astounded. There's A Word From Our Sponsors (the band's space) to find out what's pushing Matts' buttons, or what Jesse is listening to, or what Todd did last week, or Hugo’s own personal photo's, or whatever these guys want (and will allow us...hee hee) to put in "print". Pen Pals, classified ad's. and, of course, Tantric News will also be regular segments of this Tantric Fan Club Newsletter.

A VIF membership laminate (allows you "meet-n-greet" privileges at Tantric headlining concerts)

An 8"x10" black and white photo of the band

And, for a limited time, a collector cd with 3 of the songs from their album , as well as a Tantric sticker (both used for promotional purposes before the album came out).

Members-Only Merchandise
When we begin our Premier Membership package, Fans will get to buy discounted member only exclusive Tantric merchandise, including guitar books, discontinued tour merchandise, tee-shirts, and the coveted "Fan Pak". Prices will often often be 50% below record store prices.

Concert tickets and backstage pass benefits
When Tantric's on tour, the Tantric Fan Club offers members chances for great seats at retail prices! And, with our laminate "meet-n-greet" arrangement, we do our best to get as many Club Members as possible "backstage" to meet the band (when the band is on tour, we have a special time and area for the band to come out and meet Club Members). It is important to check FREQUENCY e-zine or the web site for details utilizing your laminate.
